With dedicated faculty, modern laboratory facilities, and a commitment to cutting-edge research, the Department of Chemistry is rapidly growing as a hub for chemical sciences in eastern India.
Champaran holds a unique place in India’s freedom struggle. It was here in 1917 that Mahatma Gandhi led the famous Champaran Satyagraha — his first civil disobedience movement in India — protesting against the oppressive indigo cultivation system imposed by British planters. This historic event marked the beginning of the Gandhian era in Indian politics.
East Champaran, with its district headquarters at Motihari, is a land of rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and historical significance. The region continues to inspire scholars, thinkers, and visitors from around the globe.
